AJ Michalka was born in Torrance, California. Her mother, Carrie, who is an accomplished musician as well, encouraged her to be a musician. AJ Michalka was born and raised in Torrance, California. Her mother Carrie was a gifted musician. AJ spent the majority of her youth in Torrance in addition to Seattle and Milwaukee. The sisters grew up playing the guitar and the piano in the early years. At the time they were teenagers, the sisters were specialists in their fields. AJ started acting when she was just 5 years old. She was also a performer in the church's productions of plays. AJ was also active with her school's musical performances. AJ started her acting career in 2002, when she was an 11-year old child, playing a small role in the series 'Passions.
